Favourite recent headline...
...is currently a toss-up between

YORK MOSQUE COUNTERS EDL PROTEST WITH TEA, BISCUITS AND FOOTBALL

and

FAR-RIGHT EXTREMISTS CHASED THROUGH LONDON BY WOMEN DRESSED AS BADGERS

I am not really possessed of the patriotic gene, in general, but on those brief occasions when it twitches into life, stuff like this is exactly what makes one proud to be British, damnit. XD

Incidentally, whilst we're on the subject...

Mickey's favourite bit of last Saturday was was seeing an annoyed single-issue badger shouting at some of her lot who were going after the EDL "Badgers NO! No fighting!". There was also a badger disco in the middle of the road in Westminster at one point.

"Annoyed single-issue badger" is now a phrase I wish to be adopted instantly into any self-respecting left-winger's colloquial lexicon. XD

My dad said "That reminded me instantly of you" when I mentioned it. (Not sure which of us that says more about, TBH. o.O )

It reminds me of one of the best banners I ever saw at a demo.

Come join the Badger Brigade! We have tea. And biscuits. :D

Hee! It seems to me that in the U.S. people would say, "Oh, that would be cute if we did that," but then abandon the idea as silly, but in the U.K. they just go for it. :)
